We are the trade association for Norwegian real estate agencies. At the turn of the year 2023/2024, Eiendom Norge had 60 company members.

These companies had 760 offices/branches. The members account for approximately 98% of all housing transactions in Norway. In 2023, this amounted to 126,237 transactions.

Our goal is to be the country's leading organization within housing and industry policy issues, and we work for the framework conditions for the real estate agency industry and to ensure consumers efficient and safe property transactions.

Industry, projects and rentals are more difficult to measure, but we assume close to one hundred percent coverage among our members within projects and rentals. In recent years, several of the large commercial real estate agencies have also become members of Eiendom Norge.

Safe housing transactions

The real estate agency industry plays an important role in the Norwegian economy and for Norwegian homeowners. Our members ensure that Norwegian consumers can buy and sell properties in a safe manner in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

In the second-hand housing market, the majority of properties are sold through real estate agents. When selling new buildings, commercial property and holiday homes, real estate agents are often used in connection with the transactions. In the rental market, the proportion using real estate agents is increasing.

Over 5,000 employees

At the turn of the year, our member companies had 5,221 employees.

This includes brokers, lawyers, management and administrative staff such as settlement personnel and assistants. The gender distribution in the industry is approximately 60 percent men and 40 percent women.

The development in recent years has been that the large banks have acquired the industry, and almost 70 percent of all real estate agencies with grants are owned by a bank.

Norway's leading housing organization
